Bentley Motors have unveiled a new SUV, the Bentayga Odyssean, bringing together sustainability and luxury craftsmanship. Equipped with a hybrid powertrain along with a sustainable design, this new ride enforces Bentley’s future in luxury mobility. Limited to just 70 cars globally, the Bentayga Odyssean Edition can be considered a new milestone on Bentley’s sustainability journey.
The car combines an advanced 3.0-litre V6 hybrid engine with exclusively curated styling and sustainable materials. A hybrid model, the car begins in EV Drive mode by default, switching automatically into hybrid mode when the battery runs low or upon extreme acceleration. In hold mode, the car runs on petrol alone, harvesting energy to recharge the battery via braking. Despite its smooth, near-silent operation in EV mode, the vehicle can reach speeds of up to 135 kmph before the petrol engine is activated – at which point its maximum speed increases to a thrilling 254 km/h.
The Bentayga Odyssean Edition can be ordered in a choice of seven standard exterior colours, while the team recommends six as the best colours. These are Glacier White, Dark Sapphire, Onyx and Moonbeam, Brodgar and Granite. Duo-tone combinations are also available, as well as options within the Mulliner range of satin and pearlescent paints. In total, there are more than 60 exterior finishes to choose from.
Interiors
Inside the cabin, you can choose a four or five-seat configuration, depending on the needs of any regular rear-seat passengers. The interior is upholstered according to a three-colour pattern exclusive to Odyssean Edition cars, in which the linen-coloured main hide is teamed with five secondary hide colours: Burnt Oak, Porpoise, Cricket ball, Brunel or Beluga. Among the environmentally friendly materials that have been selected for its interior are stunning Open-Pore Koa veneers, with a tactile finish that uses less lacquer, plus wool tweed upholstery panels in the front and the rear. The Front Seat Comfort Specification is fitted as standard, offering ventilation in both front seats, plus a massage function and winged comfort headrests. The seats also gain adjustable cushions and backrest bolsters.
Inside, the Odyssean Edition there are illuminated treadplates and the cabin is primarily upholstered in pale Linen hides, with secondary hides that can be customised in your choice of five complementary tones. Environmentally friendly wool tweed panels feature on the headrests and the seat backs, while shimmering diamond-in-diamond ombré embroidery sees three different thread colours – Saddle, Autumn and Linen – blend together across the surface of each seat.
What’s more? The My Bentley smartphone app enables you to remotely check the status of lights, locks and fuel levels, wherever you are. You can also use it to preheat or pre-cool the cabin prior to a journey, or to start charging in advance of a journey.
